Hi friends!

I moved from Cincinnati, OH to San Francisco on March 12, 2017 and started this blog to document my adventures in a new city and other travels. Hope you enjoy!

The First Three Weeks

The First Three Weeks

Before I left Cincinnati I told everyone that I would update this on a regular basis to let you guys know what I was up to.  I lied.  I've been in town for a little over three weeks and not one single post.  Oops.

I was supposed to be spending my days wandering around the city, taking pictures, and reporting back.  Didn't happen.  I got really comfortable in my lazy funemployment instead.  I also dropped my camera, breaking my lens, about a week in.  Turns out Chris was right about me needing a wrist strap for my camera and that really pains me to admit.  After spending an entire afternoon trying to follow along youtube videos I learned that I do not have a future as a lens repairwoman.

So what have I been up to?  Just getting used to the basics of life in San Francisco really.  Exploring the different neighborhoods.  And by exploring I mean eating my way through them.  Don't judge.   In addition to eating I'm also trying to figure out how exactly to deal with the weather since I go from cold to sweating and back a little too frequently for my liking.  My parents will be happy to know that I am mastering the art of public transportation after my younger years of being a snob and scoffing at the idea of getting on a bus.   I'll be a pro by time they visit this summer.  So basically I've been a sweaty lady taking public transportation between food stops.  It's going well!!

I did get a chance to take some pictures before day drinking in Sonoma and breaking my camera, so here you go...

The first weekend I was in town Chris deserted me for March Madness in Vegas, so I forced my friend Simone into being a tourist with me and drug her to the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park to check out the blooming cherry blossoms.  She then twisted my arm into tapas and sangria afterwards in the Haight.  She's a bad influence.

The next week Chris and I picked a day to go hiking in Point Reyes and Muir Woods.  We took our chances against the 90% chance of rain and lost.  We lost badly.

And then I broke my camera.  But have no fear!  I got my replacement lens just in time for my Italian vacation that begins on Thursday.  And yes, I am finally working on this post in order to avoid packing.  Hopefully all goes well and I'm back with a post or two about Italy in a couple weeks.  Arrivederci!!!
